Accreditation & Resource Verification Guidelines

1. General Principles

The Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN) sets the standards for the education, training, and practice of radiography. All institutions offering radiography programmes must comply with the Board’s accreditation requirements.

2. Institutional Requirements

• Valid registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
• Dedicated radiography department with adequate lecture rooms and practical laboratories.
• Accredited clinical training sites with modern imaging equipment (X‑ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, etc.).
• Qualified academic staff with RRBN-recognised qualifications.

3. Resource Verification Process

• Self‑Study Report: Institutions must submit a comprehensive self‑study covering curriculum, faculty, facilities, and student support.
• Site Visit: RRBN assessors conduct on‑site inspections to verify the reported resources and observe teaching/clinical activities.
• Deficiency Report: Any identified gaps are communicated to the institution, with a timeline for remediation.

4. Accreditation Status

• Full Accreditation: Awarded when all standards are met.
• Provisional Accreditation: Given to new programmes with minor deficiencies that must be rectified within a stipulated period.
• Denied Accreditation: If the institution fails to meet core requirements after two review cycles.

5. Appeals and Re‑assessment

Institutions have the right to appeal any accreditation decision within 30 days of notification. Appeals are reviewed by a separate panel of the Board.
